Here is a list of file types that are known / in use by the Sintran operating system itself, utilities and some applications that run under Sintran.
The file type can be empty or from 1 up to 4 alphanumeric characters. You can create a file with any file type. |
If the file type is different from the default file type(s) for a given command/application, you must enter the file name together with its type.

File without a type | Typically a file name for a peripheral device or spooling. | |
BPUN | Binary PUNched | ND-100 program which is loaded into a fixed memory location. |
BRF | Binary Relocatable File | Output from ND-100 assembler or compiler. |
DATA | DATA file | Any data file, binary or ascii data. |
DESC | DESCription file | Description file for the ND-500(0) domains, old format. |
DOM | DOMain file | ND-500(0) program, code/data segment, new format. |
DSEG | Data SEGment file | ND-500(0) program, data segments, old format. |
LINK | LINK information | ND-500(0) program, link information, old format. |
LIST | LISTing file | General output file, typically ascii text. |
MODE | MODE file | Mode (or batch) command file. |
NRF | Nord Relocatable File | Output from ND-500(0) assembler or compiler. |
OUT | OUTput file | General output file, typically ascii text. |
PROG | PROGram file | ND-100 program. |
PSEG | Program SEGment file | ND-500(0) program, code segment, old format. |
SEG | SEGment file | Additional ND-500(0) code/data segments, new format. |
SYMB | SYMBolic file | General ascii file, source code, mode/batch command etc. |
TEXT | TEXT file | Text file in general, typical for Notis-WP. |
